Teresa M. Pahura Parada

b: October 11, 1932 d: September 27, 2014

Mrs. Teresa M. Parada, of Medina, passed away on Saturday, September 27, 2014 at the Buffalo General Hospital. Mrs. Parada was born at home on Laurel Street in Medina, October 11, 1932, a daughter of the late Francis and Rose (Wieczorek) Pahura. A graduate of Medina High School, class of 1951, she worked at A & P before her marriage to John W. Parada on May 15, 1954.

A lifelong resident of Medina, she was an active member of Sacred Heart of Jesus R.C. Church. She served as President of the Mother's Club and was a member of Sacred Heart Rosary Society. She also worked at Club 31, the Towne School Cafeteria and was co-owner of Starr Liquor until her retirement in 1994. Teresa was proud of her Polish heritage. She enjoyed bowling, knitting, crocheting, sewing, reading and was a great story teller. She was very involved in the lives of her family. She also played the piano and gardened. In recent years, she enjoyed wintering in Florida. She cared deeply for her family.

Survivors include her husband, Jack; 4 children, Patricia DeToro, Dan (Cindy) Parada, John (Tammy) Parada and Denise Parada. She was the very proud grandmother of Nicole (Johnny) Kong, Christopher Parada, Justine (Justin) Bachulak, Dana DeToro, JD Parada and Joslyne Parada; great grandmother of Jack and Fiona Kong and Declan Bachulak; sister of Betty (Dan) Lance and the late Leonard and Bernard Pahura.

Friends may call on Wednesday (5-8) at the Cooper Funeral Home, 215 W. Center St., Medina. The Rev. Daniel J. Fawls will celebrate her Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday at 10AM at Holy Trinity Parish/St. Mary's Church and interment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
