Dear 麻豆区 ISD Family,

As another school year comes to a close, I want to remind everyone of the importance of staying safe and healthy during the sun-filled months of summer. Whether you’re planning a family vacation or simply taking part in outdoor activities, safety should always be a top priority.

Please keep in mind the following tips:

• Stay informed about weather conditions and seek shelter in case of lightning or extreme heat.

• Wear safety helmets when riding a bike, scooter, or skateboard.

• Make sure you have properly fitting life jackets when participating in water activities.

• Wear sunscreen and drink plenty of water when outside.

• Ensure firearms are properly secured in the home.

• If children will be home alone while parents are at work, review safety plans for strangers, fire prevention/evacuation, and ensure a list of emergency contacts is easily accessible.

• Play safe and follow the rules on playgrounds. Every summer, emergency rooms treat thousands of children injured on playgrounds.

• Always hike, bike, swim, play, or explore with a friend in designated areas and NEVER alone.

Let's make sure this summer is not only fun but also safe. Enjoy your break, explore new things, spend precious time with family and friends, and come back to us safe and sound, ready for another exciting school year.
